Kimpton Journeyman Hotel
Completed in July of 2016, HKS Holdings developed the new 158-room Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. The hotel features a nine-story tower housing: “Tre Rivali” a chef-driven, destination restaurant on the ground floor, “The Outsider” rooftop bar, a fitness center, and expansive meeting space.
The Kimpton Journeyman is the first and only upscale boutique hotel in the city’s vibrant Third Ward district. Originally an industrial and warehouse district in the late 1800s, the area is now home to Milwaukee’s emerging art and fashion scene, boasting numerous art galleries and studios, as well as the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and the Art Institute. The neighborhood is also known for the Milwaukee Riverwalk which connects the district with Downtown Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Public Market, whose vendors include privately-owned food growers, artisans, and purveyors.
The Kimpton Journeyman represents the expansion of Kimpton’s presence in the Midwest, including its existing five popular hotels in Chicago — Hotel Gray, Hotel Allegro, Hotel Burnham, Hotel Palomar, and Hotel Monaco — as well as the Grand Hotel in Minneapolis. The San Francisco-based hotel and restaurant company operates 64 Hotels, and 89 restaurants, bars and lounges in 33 cities.
